 |
|
Mr. Vincent Martinez has been playing and coaching soccer at
the local and national level for the past 20 years. Vince
started playing at a young age in the local Livermore leagues
at the Al Caffodio level, and then moved on to play for the Granada
High Varsity team, and eventually landed on the squads at California
State University, Hayward and Fresno. It was at Fresno
that he made the Big West 1st team in 1990. As a professional
he has played all over the United States in cities such as Nashville,
Monterey, and Hershey in Pennsylvania. During his two years
in Nashville he served as team captain. Mr. Martinez is
proud to say that his exposure to so many different players and
coaches from around the world has helped him gain valuable insight
into the many different styles and strategies of soccer.
Mr. Martinez recently attained his Masters degree in Kinesiology
from California State University, Hayward. As a coach Mr.
Martinez has worked with numerous age groups and skill levels,
and has held the position of assistant coach to the Las Positas
Women's soccer teams since 1995. He has coached at the
College Division I level at Fresno State, and will be coaching
the Men's Soccer team at Las Positas College in the Fall of 2000.
Mr. Martinez would like to continue a winning tradition at Las
Positas College, and wants "to develop each player to be
the best he can and eventually help them move on to a four year
school" |
