CS1 - Computing Fundamentals I
CS1 is the "core" Computer Science course here at Las Positas. It is an introduction to the discipline, required (or strongly recommended) for many other CS courses, and also fulfills General Education reuirements for various other programs. It is a transfer level course, comparable to a first-semester CS class in most four-year institutions.
The course is taught in C++, and is appropriate for anyone with no experience or minimal experience who is interested in programming and/or computer science.
Textbook: The textbook for this course is also used in
CS2, and is also a good general reference for C++.
It is Starting Out with C++: From Control Structures through Objects (7th Edition), by Tony Gaddis.
