Educational Background
- B.S. in Physiology and Neuroscience, Minor in Physical Fitness and Health Management, Minor in Health Care and Social Issues from University of California, San Diego
- M.S. in Health Science from San Francisco State University
Professional Experience
Lisa Everett became a full-time faculty member at Las Positas College in 2000. She instructs Health, Nutrition, and Physical Education. Prior to teaching at Las Positas College, she was an adjunct faculty member at Lake Tahoe Community College for seven years.
Before teaching in the community college system, Lisa was a Health/Fitness Educator specializing in corporate health promotion.
She is a member of the American College Health Association, and holds certifications as a Group Exercise Instructor, a Personal Trainer, and Aquatic Exercise Specialist.
Ms. Everett's area of speciality is Exercise Science and Sports Nutrition. She loves sharing "advanced" concepts with students in an "easy to understand and approachable" manner.
Lisa Everett is very involved in academic matters at Las Positas College. She served as the Vice Chair and then Chair of the Curriculum Committee (2002-2005); the Wellness
Department Coordinator (2000-2007); the College's Athletics Director (2004-2007); and now as the College's Basic Skills Coordinator and Committee Chair (2009-present). In addition, Ms. Everett hass held several statewide positions in athletics including: President of the California Community College Athletics Association (CCCAA) Coast Conference, an appointed member of the CCCAA Competition Committee, and an Executive Board member of the California Community College Athletics Director Association.
Personal Interests
When not is the classroom, Lisa enjoys playing outdoors with her husband and their 4 year old daughter. They enjoy snow skiing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, and golfing together.
