Over 500 people pledged to be tobacco free on Oct 6

I am very pleased with the turnout for the first Tobacco-Free Day. It was great to see the community, LPC faculty and staff, students, smokers and nonsmokers all working together. The energy was high, very positive and overall it was a wonderful event.

I would like to thank everyone for their support especially:

LPC President Cota and VP Halliday

The Alameda County Tobacco Control Program

Josie Zills, Sheria Hartman, Kate Finnigan, Eva Lane and Karen Kit

Fredda Cassidy-for coordinating the T-shirt design contest and winners Rachel Stanton, Paula Sieron and Linda Axford

Sophie Reinheimer, who did a great job of leading the kick off walk around campus.
