Chemistry 30A Home (Spring Tuesday-Thursday evening section)

Chemistry 30A is an introduction to basic concepts and techniques of chemistry. It is designed for individuals preparing for professions in the allied health fields & agriculture, or to meet general education requirements. By the end of this course, you will have learned about the structure & properties of the atom, how atoms are assembled to make chemical compounds, properties of chemical compounds, and how chemical compounds react to make new chemical compounds. Since the course consists of both lecture and laboratory sessions, you will be able to see how textbook examples work in the real world.

To help you achieve success in Chem 30A, this webpage will provide you with information relevant to the course and to chemistry in general. Through the links on the left, you will have acccess to course information, schedules, assignments, etc., as well as answer keys to homework, quizzes and exams to refer to after you have received the graded work back. There are also other links to helpful bits of information such as tutorials, practice tests, and study aids.

Chemistry is an interesting subject with applications to nearly every part of our daily lives. Like any other course that covers new and unfamiliar material, this course can be challenging. But with consistent effort and study on your part, you will find it a rewarding intellectual experience.
